Almost half of all primate species are threatened


There's a new IUCN report out on the most endangered primates. This includes the variegated spider monkey (Ateles hybridus), pictured above.


Here are the top 25 most endangered, by region:

  1. I always find it really sad when these lists come out. Most people have never even heard of most of them, which is also sad. Those blue eyed black lemurs are very pretty.

  2. It is really depressing... But I hope that media coverage of this issue will give people a chance to learn about them... and then hopefully care about them.
